Get yourself some real vintage mojo at half the price of a mint condition one. Genuine vintage 1968 Gibson Les Paul Custom, mostly original except as listed below, with honest player wear and tone to boot. Early in the reintroduction of the Les Paul, this guitar one of the very limited number made that has all the features desirable and indicative of the first series of 1968 LPCs before they started to change things: long neck tenon, one piece neck, no volute, dot on the i, distinctive pot cavity rout, solid one-piece mahogany body with maple cap, etc. Serial number starts with 515xxx. Has been well played in its life, once you pick it up you know immediately why: by far the best LP I’ve ever played (I've had high end 59 replicas and CS RI/ML). Has sustain like no other guitar and has THAT vintage LP sound we hear in our head. Weighs a no too heavy not too light 4.35kg. Neck is a super playable medium to slim C profile. Pickups are T-Top in the bridge and what appears to be an early patent number PAF spec in the neck (maybe original, maybe not?). She presents with no breaks and mostly original with the following exceptions: Has had some switches installed, now plugged. A light overspray on the neck, probably to cover the areas where the paint was worn off, otherwise original finish. Has had a refret with jumbo wire at some stage. All pots original (137 CTS date 6826) but newer orange drop capacitors and replaced jack plate. Comes in its original case which has seen better days with two broken latches, but otherwise functional. I bought it from Douglas at Sunburst Music Coogee. YouTube video is of this guitar being played at the Melbourne guitar show.
