Hiroshi Komori (Kohno Student) Class 10 1974 – All Solid Handmade Classical Guitar (Spruce / Rosewood)This beautiful guitar was crafted and signed in 1974 by highly respected luthier Hiroshi Komori, who mastered the art of guitar making in the 1960s and early 1970s under the guidance of Masaru Kohno, Japan's most distinguished and well-known luthier. This particular guitar closely mirrors the Masaru Kohno No.10 from the same period, with both instruments offering comparable sound and build quality. Komori adhered to the traditional construction methods he learned from Kohno, resulting in guitars that capture the essence of Kohno's mid to late 1960s models. Kohno’s design evolved in the late 1960s, but many enthusiasts favour the earlier versions for their superior tone. The Hiroshi Komori class 10 embodies all the characteristics of those earlier Kohno guitars. At the time in 1974, it was priced at 100,000 yen (AUD $1000), making it a high-end instrument for its era.
