Description

For sale is a Fender Telecaster built in 1968, completely original in Olympic White. Blonde Teles are much more yellow. You can clearly see the original color under the pickguard, in the neck pocket and where the paint has worn off. At least the top layer must be nitro lacquer, which can be seen in the weather checking and the characteristic yellow color of the headstock. Serial number clearly dates to 1968. Pots date to 1966. Electrics are untouched. Neck stamp is faded,  neck features match completely. Some features (paint stick, cloth wires, circuitry) are more consistent with 1-2 years earlier, which fits the CBS Transition Era. Was completely checked, serviced and perfectly adjusted with 10 strings by luthier (JTAR Guitar Tech, Northern Germany). Super light for a Tele, swamp ash body with nitro finish. No damage or defects. Signs of use can be seen in the photos; it has been played a lot. For good reason, it vibrates and resonates fantastically and is very light. A great collector and player instrument. - Weight: 3,250g- Saddle width: 41.5mm- All original- Bridge PU: 6.46k- Neck PU: 9.15k The frets are also most likely original and in pretty good condition - the original lacquer can still be seen on some of the fret ends. The frets are very good and can be played without any restrictions. The instrument comes in a newer Fender case.We always ship fully insured and professionally packed with DHL package.

About Telecaster

The Fender Telecaster, known affectionately as the "Tele," emerged as the first mass-produced solid-body electric guitar, marking a significant milestone in music history. Its straightforward design and innovative sound paved the way for new trends in electric guitar manufacturing and popular music. Since its debut in the 1950s, the Telecaster has been celebrated for its versatility, serving artists across genres from country to jazz, rock, and beyond. Its solid construction, characterized by a single-cutaway body made typically from alder or ash and a bolt-on maple neck, contributes to its distinct, bright, and cutting tone as well as a warm, mellow sound depending on pickup selection. With minor modifications over the years, the Telecaster has remained largely faithful to its original design, featuring two single-coil pickups, a three-way selector switch, and simple volume and tone controls. This enduring design has kept the Telecaster relevant and in continuous production, solidifying its status as a beloved icon in the guitar world.
