Offered for your consideration is this Nik Huber Krautster II Custom built in 2020. Huber gave this example cosmetic upgrades including binding on the back as well as the front of the body, an ebony fingerboard with binding and MOP block inlays. These options transform what is normally a relatively basic Les Paul Special-like guitar into an instrument much more like a fancier Les Paul Custom. This 2020 guitar has a mahogany body with binding on both sides. It is finished in “Aged Pelham Blue” semi-gloss lacquer. It has a glued-in neck made of lovely flame maple, with a nice big chunky shape and depth measurements of .88" at the 1st fret and 1.00" at the 12th. The bound ebony fretboard has a 10"-14" compound radius, extra hard medium/jumbo frets and a 1.65" bone nut. The electronics include Haussel custom pickups, including a humbucker in the bridge position and a P90 in the neck position, along with master volume, master tone (with push/pull coil split) and a three-way toggle. The hardware consists of a light weight, wrap-around bridge with studs and Gotoh 510 tuners. This guitar has a total weight of just 7.8 pounds. These Krautsters are awesome guitars built in Germany by quality-fanatics. They sound, look and feel fabulous! Check out the brief sound sample below for a taste of its tone. The very light finish on these guitars just makes them feel and sound quite lively and resonant. This 2020 example is in near mint condition with no flaws of any significance. The semi-gloss finish has a VOS-like patina with the vibe of a well-played but well-kept vintage guitar. The frets show no observable wear. The guitar comes in its original TKL case, also in excellent condition, along with the certificate of authenticity and accessories. As an aside, Huber stopped importing its LP-shaped Krautster and Orca models into the US in 2023 as the result of trademark infringement claims brought by Gibson. Going forward, LP-shaped Huber guitars like this marvelous Krautster will be increasingly difficult to find as US buyers will be limited to the used examples already in circulation. Huber continues to import single cut electrics of its own unique body shapes. If you are a working musician who needs an LP-style instrument for the stage and/or studio, you have got to give serious consideration to this killer Nik Huber Krautster II Custom. Make this killer rock machine yours today – you will be very glad you did!
