In the history of the Gibson Custom Shop there have already been various replicas of the legendary “Greeny”, from the CC #1 in its various versions, the current “Kirk Hammett Greeny” to individual custom-made models that tried to capture the look, sound and feel of the original. But out of all these great guitars the replica at hand is probably the most beautiful. It comes from an extremely limited small series and was produced in an edition of just 13 specimens especially for the Japanese market. The tops were selected by Edwin Wilson himself, the painting and aging was carried out by none other than Tom Murphy and the exact specs were installed as the guitar had at the end of its time with Peter Green: reverse neck pickup, Grover tuners, “out of phase” wiring and two reflector knobs. Its top has a phenomenal, three-dimensional and extremely intense grain, the “Green Lemon” finish is modeled exactly on the original in terms of color tone and gradient, and the subtle aging could hardly be surpassed in terms of authenticity. ...although it must be admitted that the appearance of this Les Paul is actually even more beautiful than that of the iconic original. In addition, this Paula was equipped with “True Historic” specs such as selected woods, hide-glue, super-thin nitrocellulose lacquer, etc. and thanks to its 59-medium neck profile enchants with exceptionally good playability. Pure Greeny sound of course! Truly a tone monster with its own character and great response. Including the characteristic “out of phase” sound it really gets going. We are delighted to be able to offer you this rare beauty in absolute top condition. And as a special treat the guitar not only comes with the usual Gibson extras and a “Historic Select” certificate, but also with a second cover for the electronics compartment, which has been provided with handwritten “Burst Wishes” by Tom Murphy.incl. original case, certificate, hangtags, documentation, additional electronics compartment cover with Tom Murphy's “Burst Wishes”weight: 3990 gramssubject to differential taxation
