(Troubadour Amp Demo begins at 6:59) The Guitar Available for purchase is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. This absolutely stunning, all-original 1956 Gibson Les Paul Special in TV Yellow has been exceptionally kept, plays beautifully, and sounds absolutely incredible. Please see photos for all condition related questions. We have attempted to provide the answers to all foreseen questions in these photos. Everything on this instrument appears to be original. The playability condition is exceptional, with a nice low action, straight neck, working electronics with no scratchiness in the pots. The tuning machines are a little tight to the feel, but work just fine. The natural finish checking and natural color fading is irreplicable. There is some minor buckle rash on the backside, a few small dings and dents here and there, and a small area of finish touch-up that was done around the 3 way switch cavity cover on the rear of the instrument. Case & CandyWe have left this instrument's belongings in exactly the way the original owner left them. The guitar comes with it's original case from City Music House, with placard. Inside the case is a the original instruction sheet for the tune-o-matic bridge (actual bridge is a wraparound style), the warranty Card from Gibson, as well as a 1950's-60's era Bobby Lee Guitar Strap ($150 value). There is also a 1/4" cord, some very old strings (possibly original), and a small flathead screwdriver. STORY This instrument was originally purchased new by a professional player by the name of Johnny "John" Barton in Concord, CA in 1957 at the City Music House store along with a Magnatone Troubadour Amplifier (ALSO AVAILABLE FOR SALE, $1 WITH COMBINE AND SAVE!!!). Both the guitar's case and the amp bear the brass plate from City Music House to this day. John played his guitar professionally up until he joined the military and was deployed to fight in the Vietnam War. He was a US Navy Veteran, hon. discharged. John kept his instrument immaculately kept, and it moved with him to Louisiana in the 1980's. The guitar was eventually passed down to his daughter, the current owner, who has had it in her possession in Clarkston, OR since the early 2000's. The guitar has been kept in all-original condition and has been very lightly played. This instrument has been thoroughly inspected for playability and defect by Gabriel's Guitars of Spokane, WA and is available for view/play/purchase at our showroom located at 3221 N Monroe St. Spokane, WA 99205. Item will be shipped fully insured.
