Description

To see and hear this bass being played - scroll to the end of the pictures for a video.1971 Fender Precision Bass, with a Sunburst finish and tortoiseshell pickguard. It has a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard. It's in excellent condition and all stock and original other than the missing metal pickup cover. Original hard case included.  It's nice and light weighing only 8 lbs 6.5 oz / 3.82 kg.The body has light lacquer checking and the usual small scuffs & dings around the edges with one slightly larger bit of wear through the finish on the back bottom corner/edge. It has a straight neck and clean frets in excellent condition with very little wear. It has a warm tone with plenty of growl. All electronics and hardware are in good working order. The neck is very clean. There are a couple of small scuffs around the top edge of the headstock but nothing major and everything remains structurally sound with no breaks or repairs.  Fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of D'Addario round-wound strings and low action giving great playability. Serial 307153 The pots both date to the 7th week of '71. Both halves of the pickup date to '71. Nut width: 40.6 mm. Depth at the 1st fret: 22.3mm. Pickup DC resistance: 10.67k.
