A striking and rare 1989 Gibson Les Paul Standard in Alpine WhiteThis guitar is in stunning condition. Hardly faded at all, the finish hasn’t yellowed too much either. There are very little signs of wear anywhere on the body and it's evident that this guitar has led a charmed life. The neck and rosewood fretboard show no real signs of use. There is plenty of life left in the frets.Plastics are unmarked as is the hardware. There is some slight wear to the gold plating as you’d expect and the pole pieces are slightly discolored. When it arrived the plating on the pickup covers were very worn so we replaced these with the correct types (originals included). The rest of the metal hardware is original and in exceptional condition - as is the guitar itself. The guitar comes with a correct hardshell case.Electronically we have a pair of Bill Lawerence Humbuckers, only made between 1988 and 1989, married to some CTS pots also dated 1989. Some solder joints look to have been reheated and shielding paint has been added in the cavities.Sonically this guitar ticks quite a few boxes. The guitar has a good weight and it certainly has all the sonic hallmarks of a great Les Paul. The neck pickup is smooth and clear and the bridge has plenty of bite without ever sounding harsh or brittle. Mixed together there is plenty of clarity and none of the midrange heaviness you would expect.A future classic or simply a great Les Paul, grab this one before it gets away as this is probably the finest example you will find…
