Description

D-28 made in 1968.It has a Jacaranda side & back and is not shipped abroad. The top has two cracks on the top left and right, two under the bridge and one on the right side. Each has patch reinforcement from the back side and is stable. There are no unusual noises in the sound when tapped. They have been carefully cared for. There is also a scratch on the back that looks like it has been slashed by a a buckle, but otherwise there are no other noticeable scratches or dents. The bridge appears to have been shaved to lower the string height. The frets show some wear from the first to the third fret, but this does not interfere with playing. The neck is in good condition and the string height is currently 2.75 mm on the 6th string and 2.75 mm on the 1st string at the 12th fret. As for the saddle, there is only about 1 mm of leeway. To lower the string height any further would require a neck reset. The bass is rich, but the deep tone, especially in the midrange, is excellent. The sound has presence even when played weakly and the sustain is long and lingers. Even when cutting strongly, the sound has a core.It comes with a genuine hard case, although it is not from that time.TOP:Sitka Spruce SIDE   BACK:Brazilian Rosewood NUT WIDTH:42.5mm SCALE:645mm TUNER:Original Grover
