Description

Here we have a very special 335. It’s a  vintage 1991 Yamano vintage sunburst Gibson ES 335 Dot with a striking highly figured look and vintage feel. The late 80’s early 90’s were very good years for 335’s and this one is truly breath-taking. It plays superbly, beautifully balanced yet feels very solid and is in full original condition. It has a slightly thinner '60's profile neck carve which feels very comfortable, fast and smooth to play. Build date is Feb 4th 1991 at Gibson’s Nashville plant, USA. Like many of the best Gibson guitars of the era, it was exported to Japan by Yamano to retail in the prominent guitar stores over there. Please read up on the Yamano era of Gibson if you are not aware of these amazing guitars. Anyway it is in find condition for it's 32 years on earth. The binding is nice and tight with no cracking. There is no buckle rash on the back. No notable big blemishes or dings anywhere. Just gentle playwear with some lovely subtle vintage ageing all over the plastics. A few fine scratches, one that you can see visible on the front near the bottom. The white binding is turning cream and the metal hardware dull and nicely tarnished. This one is well along the road to being a real vintage looker. The nitro has that dull look earned over a few decades and some fine finish checking in the nitrocellulose lacquer. Exactly the kind of look Gibson try to replicate on their modern VOS finishes. Neck is dead straight truss rod checked and functioning fine, plenty of life left in the frets, which still have their nibs. The original Classic '57's sound very articulate. Weighs in at 4.2kg. It is complete with its original tan, pink-lined Gibson HSC still with silk shroud and Japanese Yamano booklet. Case is functioning fine, latches dulled over the years. I’ll let the pics tell the rest of the story, this is a beautiful 335.Buy with confidence, Gas Station Guitars is a Ltd UK company and we offer a no question 14-day refund policy on all our guitars.
