Even we rarely get to see a “Jimmy Page Number Two”, which is certainly not surprising as this is one of the most legendary replicas of the Gibson Custom Shop ever. This guitar is the so-called “Production Sample” of the later small series, which was played by Jimmy Page himself and on the basis of which he approved the efforts of the Gibson Custom Shop. This means that the actual limited edition was only allowed to be produced after he had extensively studied this instrument and confirmed that it was absolutely identical to his original Les Paul. This Paula is modeled exactly on the 1959 Burst that Jimmy Page acquired in 1973 to complement his “Number One” Les Paul. Although unimaginable today, the Led Zeppelin guitarist modified the electronics of the then unmodified guitar and so the “Production Sample” also has plenty of split and out-of-phase options, which can be operated via Push/Pull pots and two extra buttons under the pickguard. As Jimmy didn't even shy away from grinding the neck thinner on the original, a Slim-Taper-like profile also invites you to whizz across the fretboard. And the sound of this gem is also impressive with its wonderful warmth, outstanding balance and sensational vibration behavior.
