For your consideration, a best of both worlds' guitar a 2022 Gibson Custom Shop '61/'59 Fat Neck SG in a VOS Faded Cherry finish. This guitar combines the '61 SG-style body revered for its light weight classic style and a fat 50s neck that feels more like it came off a '59 LP Reissue. This beautiful SG weighs 6lbs 4oz and is nicely balanced with little to no neck dive. This thing plays like butter and is equipped with specially matched Gibson Historic Reissue Burst Bucker PAF style pickups (a BB2 in the neck position and a BB3 in the bridge position). As for cosmetic condition, blemishes are mostly limited to oxidation of the hardware from the Gibson factory VOS aging treatment, cherry stain bleed into neck binding on both sides of the fret board, and light superficial scratching on the body and pickguard. Its hard to tell what is honest play wear from what was done by Gibson. To give the most accurate classification we're going conservative with a very good+. Functionally, guitar plays great. As of this writing these guitars are selling on the Guitar Center website for $4599 with the Faded Cherry finish option not being available for quite a while now. Get yours for much less here.
