With some subtle styling nods to the model from the 1980’s this new bike has its own distinctive style featuring full LED lighting with the brands signature DRL pattern. The Aprilia engineers have a reworked the class leading 659cc parallel twin engine to increase torque and low-to-midrange performance. The result is 80hp and 70.5Nm the torque figure being improved compared to its sportier 660 siblings. The chassis has been designed to offer exception performance both on and off road, the engine is now mounted in 6 places and steel has been used for the frame elements to enable the designers to keep the finished bike as light and narrow as possible. This narrowness means that the already low 850mm saddle height feels even lower. In usual Aprilia fashion the bike has been adorned with the brands brilliant APRC system, featuring 4 riding modes; Explore, Urban, Off-road, and Individual the latter being fully customisable through the 5″ tft screen. It is also possible to fully deactivate ABS on both wheels or just the rear. Other electronic aids include Cruise control.
