Hilton & Moss is excited to present this 1962 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8-Litre Coupé to the market. This Fixed-Head Coupé, boasting an original 3.8-litre engine, is a testament to the car's originality and serves as an ideal foundation for a Concours-quality, collector-level restoration. Alternatively, it can be meticulously restored to meet the specific preferences of a discerning owner, covering everything from exterior colour to leather, carpets, and mechanical performance.
Manufactured on September 28th, 1962, this left-hand drive E-Type was originally supplied by Jaguar of Eastern Canada in Montreal. The car features a manual transmission and was elegantly finished in Black with a rich Red interior trim. Notably, it is a fully matching numbers example, encompassing the chassis number, body number, engine block number, and gearbox.
The 3.8-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, capable of producing 265 horsepower, propelled the E-Type to a top speed of 150mph, earning it the distinction of being the fastest production car in the world at the time. Interestingly, Jaguar had boldly advertised this impressive speed even before the vehicle entered production.
Whether purchased as a restoration project in its current state or as part of an in-house restoration offered by Hilton & Moss, this E-Type project accommodates varying preferences. Project costs are tailored to individual customer specifications, and the restoration expenses can be spread monthly throughout the project duration. Our knowledgeable team is readily available to address any enquiries regarding the restoration process, finishes, or the project in its entirety.
