Description

A truly unique Porsche 996 GT3RS American Le Mans (ALMS) car. Purchased and raced by team Acemco for the 2002 ALMS series, retired after one year of competitive racing. This is one of the most complete and undamaged race cars available in the market today. The car benefits from all of it’s original carbon panels, and we believe has only had a replacement rear bumper due to being hit from behind during the Daytona 250 in July 2002 causing the car to not finish the race (DNF). The car also retains it’s original engine casing, gearbox and differential which have recently received a full overhaul. Recently the car has been run up to temperature and driven to ensure all mechanical components are functioning correctly. It received a clean bill-of-health from a specialist Porsche engineer. Team Acemo entered the car into the AMLS in 2002 where it had the following results: First race: 23.06.2002 – 6 Hours Watkins Glen: Qualified 20th (1:55.026) and finished 11th overall. 04.07.2002 – Paul Revere 250 Daytona: Qualified 20th (1:56.665) DNF due to it being “punted”. 09.08.2002 – 250 mile Watkins Glen: Qualified 20th and finished 15th overall. 01.09.2002 – Virginia 500 Miles: Qualified 13th (2:19.879) and finished 6th overall. 15.09.2002 – Mont-Tremblant 6 Hours: Qualified 9th (1:35.891) and finished 3rd overall. 10.11.2002 – Daytona Finale 3 Hours: Qualified 23rd (1:55.358) and finished 10th overall. 10.07.2005 – Monza 1000 Kilometers: The chassis was rented to Tech 9 Motorport for this race. They fitted their own engine to the car which failed mid-race. Qualified 39th (1:56.064) and DNF. 3rd overall in the 2002 ALMS championship! Following it’s competitive life it has had only 4 private owners and has been used sparingly. This car is ready to race in the growing number of historic events that re-create an era when Porsche were at the top of their game. It’s ownership represents a unique opportunity for a future owner to participate in historic events whilst being a timely investment in Porsche racing heritage.
