Launched in 1989 the Ferrari 348 carried on the same recipe of its predecessors the 308 and 328. The 348 was launched using a 3.4-litre V8 and throughout its production life span, Ferrari kept iterating and improving on its baby Testarossa.Available as a coupe, spider or targa roof equipped models, the 348 was a symbolic way into Ferrari ownership that these days offers extreme value for money. The example we have available is a very late, and very rare GTS, one of less than 140 produced. Finished in Rosso Corsa over a Crema interior, this right-hand-drive UK supplied GTS is not to be confused with the earlier, less desirable TS variant. The exterior of this example presents extremely well, with just some light stone rash to the lower front valance. All four wheels are wrapped in Pirelli rubber and are also in great shape. The later models like these offered owners increased reliability and more power, and the GTS with its targa-top allows the best of both worlds in hard top usability and top down fun. The V8 engine is mated to a gated-manual gearbox offering the driver a satisfying click-clack action. Whilst you are inside you are treated to lashings of recently restored leather, re connolised not retrimmed, and deep pile carpet, a centrally mounted fuel level gauge and oil temperature gauge add to the experience, backlit by a very 90s orange hue. You will notice at this point that this GTS has covered just over 38,000 miles, and comes complete with an extensive service record, original book pack etc.If you pop the engine cover, you will discover a clean and tidy bay with no leaks or damage, housing the later more reliable and desirable power plant. You will possibly also notice the air-conditioning system which is a wonderful additional feature to have come the summer months, which you will be set to enjoy stress free as the car will be supplied with a fresh Service and Full Cambelt Service at a Ferrari Specialist, included in the sale price. The rare specification, and combination of extensive service records, inclusion of the all important cambelt service in the sale price means this could be the best way into modern-classic Ferrari ownership. This car is competitively priced as a GTS in todays market.
