For more images, video and to see what our expert technicians thought of this SLSHOP Assured car head to our website Principle Facts A beautiful, restored car in a very striking colour combination, originally from California and now ready to be enjoyed in the UK or elsewhere. The current owner has agreed to contribute to the cost of the work highlighted in our report, meaning this Pagoda will leave us ready to be enjoyed by it's new owner right away. Optional Extras The late model 280SL was ordered new in California, the largest market and starting point for the majority of SLs. It was specified with an automatic gearbox. Condition Having undergone a restoration in 2012, this beautiful Black of Tan 280SL is striking to behold, this very tasteful car is certainly a luxurious looking head turner. With a history file dating back to the early 1980s, the car has travelled around the world with various custodians before arriving at SLSHOP today. Originally purchased in California, restored in Holland and also registered in Germany, this superb car is now looking for a new owner to show, adore and enjoy it. History First delivered on the 23rd January 1968, little is known of the early history of this car until 1981 and 1982 when it was registered to a Robert Novak in California. Mr Novak kept and cared for the car for some 30 years before it was sold to the Beverly Hills Classic Car Club, a car dealer in Los Angeles in 2012. From there it was sold to Nationwide Classics in Van Nuys (also California), before it moved to Holland under the care of Geevers classic Cars. Around this time the car underwent restoration in Holland, before moving on to Germany. It was registered there to Mobility AG in Oberhonnef, another classic car dealer. In 2015 the car found its way to the UK, where it was sold before arriving with the current keeper. Recent works detailed in the history file whilst the car has been in the UK include fitting seat belts, an annual service and a full check over. In Spring of 2022 the car underwent a service, full fluids change and check over, as well as overhauling the brakes including new calipers, new power steering and works to the soft top. 401Single Seats in place of Bench 416Hardtop, Mounted 426Automatic Transmission, Floor Shift, Power Steering 461Instrument with mileage reading and English lettering 491US Version 503Outside Rear View Mirror, on the left side 515Radio Becker, AM, FM, USA 524Paintwork Preservation 598Tinted Glass, Wrap Around, Darker on Top 600Garnish mouldings on hard top 641 White Wall Tyres 669Shipping Protection 744 Dark Blue Fabric Soft Top (5010).
