This lot will be auctioned via Historics Classic and Sportscar Auctioneers, Mercedes-Benz World sale on 23rd November, KT13 0SL. The 2004 Ferrari 360 Spider, an open-top version of the iconic Ferrari 360 Modena, was revered as one of Ferraris most stylish and technically advanced sports cars at the time. As the final model year of the 360 series, the 2004 Spider encapsulates a blend of Italian craftsmanship, innovative engineering, and exhilarating performance that has allowed it to retain its status among Ferrari enthusiasts. This model is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.6-litre V8 engine, producing some 400 bhp. The mid-mounted engines layout contributes to the car's ideal weight distribution and enhances its balance and handling. Paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or Ferraris F1-style automated manual gearbox, the 360 Spider can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 4.3 seconds, with a top speed of 180 mph. This performance, combined with Ferraris proprietary variable geometry intake system and a titanium connecting rod, helped ensure the cars high responsiveness and impressive fuel efficiency, given its power output. A major engineering feat of the 360 Spider is its aluminum space-frame chassis, which is both lighter and 40% stiffer than that of previous Ferrari convertibles. Ferrari designed this chassis specifically for the Spider variant to compensate for the absence of a fixed roof, ensuring that drivers could experience the same precise handling and stability as the coupe model. The suspension system is finely tuned for agility, while the Brembo brakes provide exceptional stopping power. One of the standout features of the 360 Spider is its fully automated soft top roof. The top retracts into a compartment between the passenger area and the engine bay, completing the transition in about 20 seconds. Ferrari designed this convertible system to allow drivers to enjoy an open-air experience without compromising the cars aerodynamics or style. Inside, the 360 Spider combines luxury with minimalistic race-inspired features. The leather-trimmed interior includes bolstered sports seats, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, and an ergonomically designed dashboard that places essential controls within easy reach of the driver.Originally registered on 3rd March 2004 this handsome Ferrari is finished in black with black interior and yellow stitching. It has recently been serviced and the cambelts were changed at the same time and with the front ball-joints. During its lifetime it has spent a number of years in storage and was recommissioned at a cost of circa £14,000. The original service books are present as are spare keys and the unused toolkit. Described as driving with no known faults, this 360 Spider, with its manual gearbox, is a great fun car to drive. Supplied with a V5C registration document, together with an MoT test certificate valid until 4th April 2025. Today, the Ferrari 360 Spider is appreciated not only for its performance but also for its timeless design and engineering. It serves as a key model in Ferraris evolution towards modern sports cars, embodying the companys relentless pursuit of automotive excellence. Consigned by Stewart Banks.
