The Porsche 911 Carrera is a significant vehicle in the history of sports cars. This model embodies the characteristics for which the Porsche 911 is renowned: performance, style, and handling. The designation "3.2" refers to the displacement of the six-cylinder boxer engine located at the rear of the vehicle. Depending on the variant, this engine provided between 207 and 231 horsepower, resulting in impressive performance figures for its time. The 911 Carrera 3.2 accelerated briskly, delivering a sporty driving experience for seasoned drivers. What set the vehicle apart was its balanced road manners and precise steering. Praised for its agile handling and well-balanced behavior, the 911 Carrera 3.2 became a popular choice among car enthusiasts, independent of its cult status. The 1988 911 Carrera 3.2 was available in various body styles, including a coupe, a Targa model with a removable roof section, and a convertible with a fully collapsible top. These variations offered versatility to cater to individual preferences. In addition to its outstanding performance and handling, the 911 Carrera 3.2 was also renowned for its iconic design. Its distinctive silhouette and unmistakable Porsche styling contributed to establishing the 911 as a true style icon. The Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 was the final model of the "G-Model" series, produced from 1974 to 1989, before transitioning to the 964 generation, making it an important part of Porsche's history.
The Porsche 911 Carrera offered here was produced for the US market and first registered in Kansas in 1988. Over the years, it has had a total of three owners there. The first owner only used the vehicle from 1988 to 1989 and covered around 8,000 miles during this time. The car then passed into the hands of the second owner, who drove it from 1989 to 2001 and extended the odometer reading to 14,700 miles. In 2001, the third owner took over the Porsche 911 and kept it in his possession until 2008. The mileage at this time was 25,400 miles. The Carfax extract available to us confirms that the car has demonstrably not been involved in any accidents. This is also shown by the paint layer measurements carried out. In November 2008, the car was purchased by the Mechatronik collection management and subsequently shipped to Germany, where it arrived in December 2008 and was stored in our in-house collection. Over the following 10 years, this 911 Carrera remained in the possession of Mechatronik and was used exclusively for driving during this period. Due to its extremely well-kept original condition, verifiable history and low mileage, this 911 Carrera is a vehicle that is particularly suitable for collectors and connoisseurs of the model series.
