The introduction of the 575 M Maranello in 2002 was a highly revised and modified 550 - the M standing for “Modificata”. The quad cam, 4 valve per cylinder, V12 was taken to 5758 cc, producing 515 HP with 588 Nm of torque. Weighing 1,690 KG, light by modern standards, this meant in excess of 200 MPH top speed and 0 – 60 MPH in less than 4.2 seconds. These staggering performance figures enabled this car to hold the title of fastest front engine car in the world.
