First USA Edition/First Printing. Hardcover. Near fine book in a very good plus unclipped dust jacket. The first state jacket is without the Zip Code or Roman numerals to the rear or back panel. Book has softening to the spine ends else clean. The jacket has some wear to the spine ends, toning along the jacket edges and spots of rubbing to the front panel. Included is the prospectus booklet in stapled wrappers sent to reviewers prior to the Grove Press publication of the book. This prospectus includes an excerpt from Naked Lunch, essays in defense of the book and endorsements by Mailer and Kerouac amongst others. The prospectus is fine, without wear or toning.
