McCarthy's ninth novel, a prolonged and violent game of cat-and-mouse between a hunter and a deranged assassin which unfolds along the Texas-Mexico border. An uncommon pre-publication format; while the American edition had an announced first printing of 250,000 copies, the UK edition (as with all other McCarthy titles) was produced in considerably smaller numbers. We've seen perhaps a handful of proof copies of the American edition (not the abundantly-produced glossy advance copies), and fewer still of the UK proof. Basis for the Oscar-winning Coen brother's film (2007), starring Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, and Tommy Lee Jones.

No Country for Old Men is a novel by American author Cormac McCarthy. The book was first published in 2005, and it takes place along the United States–Mexico border in 1980, revolving around an illegal drug deal gone awry in the Texas desert.
