This is the first hardcover edition of the book, after a softcover edition that was privately published by the author and his father and personally distributed at some local bookstores near his home. The Knopf edition is significantly different (much shorter, for instance) than the softcover edition. Author has signed book with his name and date only ("2003"), without any inscriptions. This book comes with the rare Eragon mousepad, issued with just a few copies at select bookstores upon release. Purchased new and opened only for signature.. Signed by Author(s). 1st Edition.
