The contents, with the "Four Oaks Farm" bookplate of film producer Stan Meyer to the front free endpaper are otherwise clean throughout. Complete with the very good rubbed and nicked original dustwrapper which has a small chip to the bottom of the spine where it meets the slightly dusty rear panel. Not price-clipped; 15s net. Signed by the Ian Fleming in blue ink on the front free endpaper. Provenance: From the library of Stanley and Dodo Meyer. Stanley Meyer, a producer at Warner Brothers, had in 1956 expressed an interest in buying an option on Live and Let Die and Moonraker. Live and Let Die is the second novel in Ian Fleming's James Bond series of stories, and is set in London, the US and Jamaica. It was first published in the UK by Jonathan Cape on 5 April 1954. In the novel, Bond must defeat a dangerous drug lord with plans to finance Soviet espionage in America. The story was developed during Fleming's second stay in Jamaica, where he had extensive knowledge of the local scenery, wildlife, and underworld.
