1st Edition. Original cloth backed boards, a little bruised at the head of the spine. Covers, early and last few pages browned. However, generally a Very Good copy in repaired and restored dust wrapper. Presentation copy inscribed "To John Hurry Armstrong with best wishes from his friend Mervyn." and additionally signed in full at the foot of the end paper. John Armstrong was the nephew of Leslie Hurry, artist and theatre designer. Hurry was a friend, fellow artist and illustrated one of Peake's poems 'Watch, Here and Now' published in Pinpoints, May-June 1939 at around the time this title was published. Very few copies appear to have escaped the blitz, I have seen no more than ten copies in 30 years. PiP A1a.
