Roberts Brothers, 1890. first. hardcover. near fine. Rare First Editions of Emily Dickinson's first three books of Poetry. Poems: First Series, 1890. Poems: Second Series, 1891. Poems: Third Series, 1896. Housed in a custom-made clam-shell box. Only 500 copies of the First Series were printed, 960 copies of the Second Series, and 1000 copies of the Third Series. All three volumes are in original publisher's bindings. 1st volume near fine, very minor foxing to front cover, front paste-down and front free end paper; inscription to former owner on front free end paper, gilt on top edge perfect. 2nd volume very good, some wear, cracking to rear hinge of cover and rear gutter but binding intact, professional repair to front gutter, small tear to side of front free end paper and 2nd to last rear end paper, foxing to paste-downs and free end papers and foredge and bottom edge, small corner piece missing of rear free end paper, gilt on top edge intact. 3rd volume very good plus, faint…
