This book is in very good condition. Minor surface wear to the extremities. Both hinges are cracked. The pastedowns are lightly foxed. Previous owner's signature on the front endpaper. Page 7-8 is loose and damaged. The rest of the textblock is clean and well preserved. Originally written by French author Gaston Leroux, The Phantom of the Opera is partially inspired by historical events at the Paris Opera during the nineteenth century. The Phantom of the Opera, published serially in Le Gaulois from September 23, 1909 to January 8, 1910, and in volume form in late March 1910, is a novel by French writer Gaston Leroux. It tells the story of a mysterious masked man living in the catacombs of the Paris Opera House and his obsessive love for the beautiful Christine Daaé.
