The title is an attribution, a modified quotation taken from the text based on the artist's marked copy of the work, and should be considered a working title. A unique original preliminary painting / sketch to illustrate Lewis Carroll's 'Through the Looking Glass', the sequel to his celebrated edition of 'Alice in Wonderland', winner of the Gold Medal from the New York Society of Illustrators in 2001.
