A near fine first edition in a good and very rare example of the second issue dust jacket. Jacket says Hawthornden Prize Edition, which Hilton won for this book in 1934. But the book itself is the true 1933 first edition, not the edition reissued to mention the prize. So it appears the publisher added this new version of the jacket to the remaining unsold copies of the first edition book, possibly replacing the original jackets. Jacket is good only, with original price still present but the bottom three inches section of the spine missing. Housed in a custom-made collector's slipcase.
