Description

SIGNED FIRST EDITION FIRST PRINTING. One of the earliest copies, if not the first copy, from the first edition print run. Roger Zelazny was my favorite author. At the conventions, I was always asking Mr. Zelazny where he thought I might find more scarce Zelazny items (his first answer was fanzines, then the hard to find first edition of Nine Princes, then in later years the Cheap Street publications). This copy of Nine Princes Mr. Zelazny had been sent by Doubleday (stamped on a blank page "From the library of Doubleday and Company") and he gave it to me and signed it (his name only) on the title page. The original DJ with N.P.I.A. $4.50 price. This copy of the first edition differs from all the other firsts I have seen over the years. The first several pages are a heavier stock of paper; there are four blank pages leading up to the title page; there is no half title page; and there are two blank pages at the end. I am selling my personal collection of Zelazny books and correspondence. The book has slightly bumped rubbed corners, two white dots on front cover and rear cover, spine top pushed, and a repaired cut mark to the rear gutter (about one inch). The dust jacket is complete but has moderate wear to corners and edges with three very small quarter-inch by eighth-inch chips at the edge. A conservative grade is VERY GOOD PLUS. Will require several hundred dollars extra shipping for international orders. Shelf 1001. Not a book club copy. No previous owner name, no marks, no underlining, not price-clipped, not a remainder.
