JOYCE, James. Pomes Penyeach. Paris, Shakespeare and Company, 1927. First edition, with errata slip, of this collection of thirteen short poems written by Joyce between 1904 and 1924. The title is a play on poems and the French pommes . However, as printed on the rear cover, the book s original prince was one shilling (twelve pennies), making the thirteenth poem a bonus. The collection includes some of Joyce s most popular poems, such as A Flower Given to My Daughter and On the Beach at Fontana , with each poem accompanied by its place and year of composition. Sextodecimo; some very light foxing, but generally very good; original paper covered boards, covers lettered in green (covers sunned and slightly soiled, spine a little worn with some small loss).

Pomes Penyeach is a collection of thirteen short poems by James Joyce. It was originally published on July 7, 1927 by Shakespeare and Company for the price of one shilling (twelve pence) or twelve francs. The poems were written over a twenty-year period from 1904 to 1924, and two of the pieces ('Tilly' and 'A Prayer') had already appeared in James Joyce's earlier published work, 'Chamber Music'.
