First UK Edition. Publisher's cornflower blue boards with black lettering to the front board and spine. A first edition, first printing published by Hodder and Stoughton in 1945. A VG copy (with no inscriptions) with fading to the head and tail of the spine and with a with a bump and small tear in the cloth to the top edge of the back panel. The boards are generally clean and attractive and there none of the usual spotting to the text block or the boards. The good dustwrapper is priced 6/- net to the spine (as called for) and has had historic restoration to the verso including the head and tail of the spine and in several places to the right-hand edge of the front cover adjacent to the front flap. Externally the dustwrapper looks nicer than it sounds. Photographs/scans available upon request.
