In a Near Fine dust jacket with publisher's price of $3.95 intact and no ISBN on the rear panel, with light edge wear, toning and foxing, small stain to spine, extending onto rear panel. The author's first book for children. This edition preceded the better-known British edition by a full six years, and features color illustrations by Nancy Ekholm Burkert, different from that edition, as well as a subtitle that was later dropped.
