Forty six (46) volumes from the fifty (50) volume set published by Ticknor and Fields from 1857 to 1859. This collection is missing volumes 15, 16, 17 and 18. Quarter bindings with leather and marbled paper cover boards. Gilt stamping on spines with five raised bands. Head and tail bands, all edges are marbled, as are the endpapers, bindings are firm. There is some shelfwear to the edges and rubbing on the leather but given their age this collection is in good condition. The text blocks appear unmarked, although two of the books have small pieces of paper, used as bookmarks, and these have left small tanned marks on two pages in each book.
