Given the gap in publication, it is unusual to find a pair with the same limitation number in each volume. Provenance: the collection of Steve Forbes, chairman of Forbes Magazine, and presidential candidate in the 1996 and 2000 US elections; his book label is loosely inserted. Two works, octavo. Original grey cloth, spines lettered in gilt on green ground, presidential seal in gilt to front covers, map endpapers. In original card slipcases with label to front panels. Slipcases rubbed with slight ringstain at head, slight splits at slipcase extremities; contents unopened: fine copies in very good slipcases. .

This book is the first volume of Eisenhower's memoirs of his presidency, detailing the challenges and decisions made during his first term in office.
