Santiago: America, 1950. Book. Very Good. Printed Wrappers. First Edition Thus. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Clandestine edition published by the Chilean Communist Party, First Thus in printed wrappers, the Party also published an earlier hardcover edition. Both of these Chilean editions came out shortly after the true First Edition published in Mexico, and both are uncommon. Very Good, spine a bit darkened and with vertical crease, light wear at edges, paper uniformly browning. 447 pages, with two photographs of Neruda tipped in and illustrations by Jose Venturelli (Santiago, 1924 - Beijing, 1998)..
