This is the 1st UK Edition, 1st Printing, one of 5,000 copies printed, according to Gilbert Bibliography, A11. Hardcover. Black cloth boards with orange titles to the spine. Spine lightly faded, head/foot show light wear. Full page advert for Lord Peter Views the Body opposite the title page. Title page dated 1930, with two stanzas of verse from Old Ballad as called for. The endpapers are heavily yellowed, the rest of the text pages are clean and unmarked. Front hinge solid, rear hinge just starting. A tiny closed tear to the centre top edge of text block from pp. 215-255, measuring 1/8th of an inch or less. Overall, a very nice copy of the 1st Edition, which is very Scarce.
