Severe cracking to hinges and gutters causing boards and pages to become detached. Binding is loose. Clean pages with noticeable tanning and foxing throughout. More pronounced to free endpapers and pastedowns. Ownership plate stuck to front pastedown. Pencil, pen and ink stamp inscriptions to front pastedown, free endpaper, title page and contents page with noticeable scuffing and rubbing. Pen and pencil annotations and underlining to pages throughout. Text still legible. Deckled edges with creasing. Boards have moderate edge-wear with rubbing to surfaces and bumping to corners. Gilt lettering is darkened. Moderate tanning to spine and edges with heavy crushing to spine ends. Heavy splits to spine and corners causing spine strip to be almost detached and loose from rear joint. Loss to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Visible wear marks to boa.
