Description

The first edition, published by McGraw Hill in 1959. A political thriller by which others shall be judged for the forseeable future. This work was made possible by the actions of famed Hollywood producer - powerbroker Max Youngstein. Youngstein had employed the young Condon to write for his firm. Youngstein thought that Condon was wasting his talents and fired him - but sent him to a coastal bungalow in Mexico along with the portion of wages which Youngstein had been skimming from an unsuspecting young Condon. One of the most memorable of the literary Hollywood tales. This copy bears Condon's stylized and quite distinctive ' R ' - to the dedication page. The loop of the R encompasses the dedication text to Youngstein. A near fine example of the book in a near fine dust jacket with edges rubbed and a chip to each corner of the uppermost edge. The 'R', which Condon has penned in blue and red marker has offset to the opposite page.
