Sauk City: Arkham House, 1947. First edition. A fine copy in a fine dust jacket with slight wear to the spine ends and corner tips, rubbing along front flap fold. A lovely jacket with the red ink lettering to the spine panel bright. No dust soiling to the rear panel with the white background being bright, the trim size of the jacket is slightly larger than the book and the wear to the top edge is minimal, just at the head of the spine and upper front corner. (31420). Octavo, cloth. This copy inscribed and signed by Bradbury to Ron [Goulart] on the front free end paper, dated 1952. The author's first book. Collects twenty-seven stories, most first appearing in magazines, sixteen from WEIRD TALES. Six stories are published here for the first time; "The Maiden," "The Emissary," "Jack-in-the-Box," "Uncle Einer," "The Night Sets," and "Next in Line."
