About Mrs Dalloway

Mrs Dalloway is a novel by Virginia Woolf published on 14 May 1925. It details a day in the life of Clarissa Dalloway, a fictional high-society woman in post–First World War England. It is one of Woolf's best-known novels.

Identifying the First Edition of Mrs Dalloway

Identification of 'Mrs Dalloway' first editions can be complex without a dust jacket. First editions published by Hogarth Press in 1925 would typically be bound in a yellow-green cloth, with titles in gilt on the spine. Presence of a dust jacket, especially the Vanessa Bell-designed jacket, greatly increases the rarity and value.
