Published between 1852-53. Uniformly bound in dark green leather with gold tooled spines with raised bands and tan title labels. Marble paper on front and back covers, inside endpapers and marbled page ends. Some volumes have worn edges and bumping to spine and corners. Frontis engravings and four to eight illustrations in each volume. A few sprung sections. Pages are lightly tanned and there is some slight foxing.Vol one includes a copy of Walter Scott's letter to the King's Most Gracious Majesty, dated Abbotsford 1829.
