New York: Jonathan Cape & Harrison Smith, 1931. Softcover. Fine/Good. Fourth printing (published two months after the first). Text block bound in mesh and unprinted red paper wrappers, housed in (likely fourth printing) good dust jacket with several small chips, some loss along the top of the front panel affecting several letters, and modest toning on the spine. Likely used as an in-house copy for review copy or a publisher's file copy. Filmed in 1933 as *The Story of Temple Drake* with Miriam Hopkins in the title role. Both the book and film were controversial and the latter was banned for several years. We've never seen another copy in this format. A pleasing and possibly unique artifact of one of Faulkner's most famous and successful novels. *Connolly 100*.
