Description

First edition, hardcover in tan cloth with gilt stamped titling and red top edge treatment, signed by Faulkner and marked as no. 222/450 on the limitation page, and in unprinted acetate wrapper as issued. The book has shallow bowing to the boards, light bumps to the spine ends and cover corners, a hint of sunning to the spine and head, subtle waving to the head and tail edges of the text block, tiny spots to the head of the limitation and title pages, and a small antiquarian seller's sticker to the tail of the rear pastedown. Overall, this is a solid, tight, Near Very Good copy in a rubbed and lightly toned, Good+ acetate wrapper, which has slight waving along the head, and losses with closed tears at the head of the spine and upper corners. Additional images are available by request.

About The Town

The Town, the second novel in William Faulkner's Snopes Trilogy, chronicles the rise of Flem Snopes in Yoknapatawpha County. Continuing the story begun in The Hamlet and culminating in The Mansion, The Town deftly explores and expands on the themes of ambition, power, and corruption in Southern society.
