A very good copy of the stated first Grove Press hard cover edition in a somewhat poor (not price-clipped: $3.50) dust-jacket. No previous ownership marks or signatures. The text is wholly unmarked, pristine, and the red cloth binding is still quite bright and fresh in appearance, though there is some evident dulling to the gilt lettering on the spine. A bit of incipient foxing to the endpapers. Abundant intact tears and fraying to the extremities of the jacket, wiith surface rubbing and loss of the gloss to front and rear jacket panels. All in all a handsome copy of the rare first Grove Press edition.
