Description

[288pp, top edge pale green]: [xii], 276 (last two leaves blank & unopened); stamped rust cloth, lacking jacket; 195 x 136 x 32 mm. Third printing of the author's first book, issued March 1931 (originally February 1929; second printing March 1930). A nice bright copy with the only 'problem' being some scattered foxing along the fore-edge of the book block & outer margin of a few terminal leaves. Note that the bibliographer was entirely unaware of this printing, designating the third printing of the work as a Grosset & Dunlap edition [Layman A1.1c]. Leading to the presumption that the two Depression-era reprints were issued in extremely small numbers (in the case of the present volume, small enough to remain virtually unknown). Very scarce.

About Red Harvest

Red Harvest is a gritty crime novel by Dashiell Hammett that follows an unnamed detective, the Continental Op, as he uncovers the corruption in a bleak, crime-ridden town called Personville.
