This book is a stated second printing from May 1943. It was a Caldecott medal winner. The book interior is in very good condition with clean interior pages showing occasional spots of foxing. It is SIGNED by Burton on the title page! The blue cloth cover has edge wear and corner wear. There is slight fading on the spine and bottom of the cover. No dust jacket. Unusual to find a signed copy of such an early printing. Pictures available upon request.
