Text bright and clean.Boards are spotted stained, Corners bumped and rubbed. Edges darkened.Half inch spine slant.The previous owner has constructed a blue gray paper wrapper for the book and cut the original dust jacket into three pieces and taped them to the front cover and flaps of the homemade wrapper. The three pieces are the front flap of the original DJ (minus the price), the rear flap, and a 5 inch by 2 inch section of the DJ spine stating "GONE WITH THE WIND on three lines then MARGARET MITCHELL on two lines then an illustration of a Confederate flag.

Gone with the Wind is a novel by American writer Margaret Mitchell, first published in 1936. The story is set in Clayton County and Atlanta, both in Georgia, during the American Civil War and Reconstruction Era. It depicts the struggles of young Scarlett O'Hara, the spoiled daughter of a well-to-do plantation owner, who must use every means at her disposal to come out of the poverty she finds herself in after Sherman's March to the Sea.
