Beaufort is best-known for his map of Ireland, his instrumental role in establishing Sunday schools, and for publishing educational works for young readers. Jefferson's history of Virginia: with commentary on the state's landscape, flora and fauna, also with commentary on the state's political institutions. The work was first published in Paris.
