The spine is lettered in gilt along with a gilt motif. The front board is lettered in black. A first issue copy. The pages have scattered foxing in places and the front and last end papers have lighter square patches where perhaps a wrapper or insert had sat. All illustrations are present.� 1500 copies of the author's first travel book were printed but around 900 were pulped, making copies in decent condition quite rare.
